The FCC's Radical (In A Good Way) Cybersecurity Agenda

Over on Wetmachine, I have my analysis of the cybersecurity speech FCC Chairman Genachowski made Wed. In it, Genachowski makes the radical proposal that rather than treating the open nature of the Internet and user privacy as "weaknesses" to be "fixed" or "trade offs" to be made, we treat them as "principles to be honored." Not only is it that we care about cybersecurity precisely because these things make the Internet valuable to everyone, security that works with the nature of the 'net rather than against it is much more likely to be effective.
