I think we should require Econ 101 in High School

Our local Metro authority is experiencing budget problems as a consequence of a drop in ridership. Their response is to significantly raise rates and cut service.

Oddly enough, immediately after this was published in the local paper, huge numbers of folks complained that they would drop public transportation and drive to work.


In fairness, they hoped to shift rider behavior to non-rush hour "off-peak" times. But sine that depends on employers cooperating.

Doesn't anyone take Econ 101 anymore?
