So while I was at Rosh Hashanna

I think I like John Stewart's description of the video best: "Romney talking about poor people the way we expect cartoon rich people to talk about cartoon poor people."

I wonder if all those bitter people clinging to guns and religion like "dependent freeloader" better. Obviously they do, as they are pretty much still gonna vote for the guy.

It used to be Republican's championed eliminating taxes and filing for low income people. For one thing, the filing threshold saves the government money. But more importantly, things like dependent child credit were part of the conservative idea that everyone benefits from reducing the burden to the federal government.

Oddly, however, corporations that pay no taxes are not dependent freeloaders, even when they suck down huge quantities of federal subsidy. For example, I'm pretty sure AT&T and Verizon did not pay corporate income tax, despite getting USF subsidies.
