Fascinating on Tea Party Reaction to Romney Heresies

What has been fascinating to me about the post-debate reaction has been the willingness of Tea Party conservatives and others who had insisted on ideological purity to give Romney a free pass on everything he said in the debate that they previously hated him for saying. e.g., "we need regulation" or "my plan is a model on a state by state basis." I think the sight of Obama on stage so overwhelmed them with hate endorphins (neurotransmitters that make you feel good about intensively hating) that it blocks out everything else. Also, if you point out anything that contradicts this new warm, positive feeling, you get a response that boils down to "you're just upset your guy lost."

It's kinda like watching a debate with The Silence. All you remember afterward is the suggestion that your guy won and the other guy sucks.
