Anyone done any analysis on male/female ratio and rape culture?

Most of the studies on male/female gender imbalance that I'm aware of are fairly old and involved frontier societies. Am curious if anyone has looked at correlation between cultures where open physical assaults on women have grown in frequency in urban areas (like India, but also post-Arab Spring Egypt) and male/female ratio.

Would also be curious if anyone has looked at this at all systemically wrt China, which has worst male/female imbalance in the world.
