Katrina Poem
Based on the postings to the nola.com message board and dedicated to the Wireless ISP and Community wireless volunteers working to restore vital connectitivity to the region.

"Has anybody seen Chaplain Jolly?
He stayed behind with those who were too ill
To travel. It's been three days since that holy
Man was heard from." "Help my father! He's still
Trapped with his brothers and their dogs. They will
Not leave their faithful hounds to perish in the flood."
"My bedridden grandmother needs her pill."
We will send your message, the rest lies with God.

"Can you help me find my sister Molly?"
"There's fire in Bywater! And robbers kill
And rape at night. To try to leave is folly."
"Good news! Alex Chilton is safe. Please tell
His family and friends." "Please find my Bill!
One last good bye before I'm laid in sod."
The signal beacons leap from hill to hill.
We will send your message, the rest lies with God.

The lines by which news traveled were wholly
Destroyed. Despite the heat and fetid swill
We plant signal towers like Christmas holly
And weave again the webs the storm did still.
Employing all our cunning, strength, and skill,
We send the messages beyond this mud.
This solemn duty we vow to fulfill --
We will send your message, the rest lies with God.
