Where the government leads, lawyers follow

This article, http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1161939921797 describes a lawsuit over purchase of "virtual land" in Second Life. While I don't mind the breach of contract claims, I am seriously annoyed at the effort to try to make bad analogies between the game environment and reality.

We went through a similar nonesense in the 1990s, when some idealists decided that "cyberspace" was somehow an actual place.

Sigh.
