Disclaimers and Lincoln/Obama Amusement
First, the rather obvious disclaimer that I am only vaguely tuning in, as well as writing my final exam and grading my previous class project. Blech.

Pennsylvania Aftermath
Well, we could have done this a month ago and gotten about the same result. Have demographics really become destiny in this race?

If so, we are looking at one very unpleasant trend for the Ds. While attendance was good in PA (better than usual, owing to the importance of the primary) it was not apparently the amazing record-breaking turnout it has been for the Ds until now.

As a harbinger of things to come, that's disturbing. It indicates that the race is indeed having negative impact on Democratic enthusiasm overall. We'll have to see if that stays true in NC (where the result is considered a forgone conclusion for Obama) and IN (considered a toss up).

A bitter floor fight in August, coupled with McCain presenting himself as the independent-minded candidate above the fray. Charming. Then we can spend the next four years listening to folks blame others for blowing it.
