Public Performance License

This is a pretty good article about the problem for public performance licenses. It is also an example of the attitude problem in IP enforcement. If the PROs (the Professional Royalty Orgs) thought of themselves as agents trying to maximize value to their customers, they would try to work things out with the localities. Yes, that takes more work, but it gets more revenue for artists by increasing the paying customers. But the PROs think of themselves as a SWAT Team going after criminals.
