Cox's "Strategic Incompetence" On Cablecard

It makes me laugh and cry. This Cox customer describes how Cox attempted to thwart his purchase of a high-end TiVO and push him to their own DVR. Devices that connect to cable systems require something called "Cablecard." Despite the fact that in 1996, Congress told the FCC to make it so people could attach competing devices all pay TV services (cable, satellite, and now FIOS), the FCC has shown "strategic incompetence" in failing to enforce the law.
