And What Is Your Vision?
We studied the "I have a dream speech" in leadership training. One of the key aspects in motivating people to work for a better world is to have a vision that inspires us and compels us.

I have a dream, a vision that inspires me to keep doing what I do. But it is not original to me.

"And He shall judge among the many nations, and shall admonish the mighty nations near and far; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not make war against nation, nor shall they ever again learn to war. And they shall sit, each beneath his vine and fig tree, and none shall make them afraid; this the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Rather, each nation shall walk in the way of its god, and we shall walk in the way of the Lord our God for ever and ever." Micha 4:1-5

Anyone else? What inspires you? What is your vision? And, if you discover you do not have one, do you feel the lack?
We are having a discussion tomorrow about Jim Collin's "Hedgehog Concept."

Unfortunately, I keep thinking about this classic from the Discworld series. What's annoying is that Pratchett's "hedgehog concept" makes a lot more sense to me as a business strategy.
