RIP Fred Pohl
A salute to the Grandmaster of Science Fiction, Fred Pohl. A life well spent, a legacy in both his literature and his family and friends who shall remember him.

RIP Ronald Coase
While I expect more people on my LJ will have read Fred Pohl, the other noteworthy death in the last day or so was nobel prize winning economist Ronald Coase.

Coase lived to be 102 -- long enough to see people completely misunderstand his work on auctions. But that is the subject of another blog post.

Policy=Groundhogs Day
So having spent July stuck doing retrans and cable issues, we now get to relive the network neutrality fight again in the build up to oral argument in front of the D.C. Circuit next week.

I can't believe it has taken us 3 years to get to this point.
