As you might imagine, this came about as a result of a Twenty Questions game (a way to keep Aaron amused). Becky said "animal" and, when we couldn't guess it, said the answer was Winnie-the-Pooh. I protested that Pooh was a mineral, because he was a stuffed bear. She said he was real in the story and behaved as a real animal, and therefore should be "animal." I responded that the book itself described Pooh as a stuffed animal, spoke of him being in the toybox, and included things in the stories that were dependent on Pooh being an animated stuffed bear and not a real bear. This did not even rise to the level of Hobbs, who in Calvin's imagination is always a real tiger and not a stuffed tiger that acts like a real tiger.
I offered to take the question to LJ and let the people decide. And the people have spoken! Pooh is an animal and Becky gets bragging rights over her husband.
