Requirements: make your own arrow (fletch a fiberglass shaft), make your own bow string, score 60 points (cumulative) in two rounds of 7 arrows each at a distance of 20 yards.
Aaron's comment: I told them I usually only get six arrows per round at 30 yards.
NB: The archery merit badge is usually considered "hard." Most kids take several days to practice and get the necessary point score. Our local chaplin, who was scoutmaster of the cubs, knew we were SCA and told us in advance he thought Aaron would have no problem.
I look forward to when he gets the sewing merit badge and can make his own garb.
