Holmes Review from the NYT

1) Is this the first use of the term "steam punk" in mainstream media?

2) I think the reviewer is off in a number of places. Doyle's Holmes was a physical superman as well as a mental giant, able to out shoot the dreaded Tiger Moran, outwrestle Moriarty, straighten a bent steel poker, and perform other prodigious physical feats.

Nor is Irene Adler and invented character here. She appears in "A Scandal in Bohemia" as the only woman ever to best Holmes, thus winning his undying devotion and becoming a fairly common character in Holmes mythology.

The previews and the reviews have made this look promising enough for me to try it. The action may make it palatable for Aaron.
