I suppose I should be grateful that no charismatic revolutionary has emerged. For all the blah blah about either Bush or Obama being "Hitler" and "fascist," the plain truth is that neither one had/has armies of brownshirts out in the streets beating the crap out of dissenters and promising economic recovery and a return to glory in exchange for utter obedience. Because in this environment, if Nehemiah Scudder really did show up to run in 2012, he might well pull off a win.
