Why it would be nice if reporters did math
There was a story today in one industry rag over how 51% of the NTIA BTOP grant money went to states with members on the Senate Commerce Committee. I was asked for comment.
Me: How many states are represented on the Senate Commerce Committee?
Reporter: 24
Me: So you are asking me if it is exceptional that 24 of the 50 states received 51% of the total grant money?
Reporter: Yes.
Me: Do you play poker? Can I interest you in a game?
OK, I did not say that part out loud.
